About Us

Oldham Total Care is established as a wholly owned Local Authority Trading Company (LATCO) of Oldham Council; and operates as its own standalone business.

Provision of specialist nursing and care support has existed on the Total Care site for nearly 40 years. Further to an increased demand for specialist support in Oldham, Chadderton Total Care (in its previous iteration) was established to provide, ‘Facilities which were tailored to focus on the comfort and needs of the residents and to delivering the best possible services’. The resident facilities were established on one level, with registered provision for residential, nursing, dementia nursing and nursing for younger adults (under 65 years). Whilst the home has evolved over time, and the name was changed in 2023 further to acquisition of the business, the original principles have endured as the home has continued to develop over the decades and the facilities have been extended and enhanced. At Total Care, quality of care is not just a function of the quality of the accommodation or the level of training for staff but is also the overall attitude of staff and management to continue to be the best at what they do.

Our mission statement

Philosophy of care

Our purpose is to deliver a care service which adheres to the principles of dignity, privacy, independence, and choice, and includes fulfilment, and meaningful activity. Respect for our residents as individuals is an integral aspect of our care. We deliver our care with equality, integrity and understanding, within a culture that reflects the diverse nature of our local community.

We endeavor to deliver a care service that is tailored to a residents’ personal needs and to support wherever possible, the optimum level of independence. Consultation with the resident and where relevant, their family and loves ones, is important in achieving this to develop a detailed, individual care plan. Each personal care plan is regularly reviewed with the individual and amended in relation to the resident’s changing circumstances, needs and desires.
