Our staff

We know that the success of Total Care is due to its people. We believe it is vital to recruit the right staff – those who share our commitment when it comes to taking care of others. Every member of staff at Total Care plays a significant role in providing the best possible environment in which to care for our residents.

One of the most valuable assets of any business is its staff. In the nursing and care sector, it takes a particular type of person to give as much of themselves for the betterment of others. In return for this commitment to both our clients and our organisation, Total Care supports its staff in developing skills and providing opportunities for advancement in their chosen career or profession – which in turn, provides better services and skills to the benefit of our clients.

Each of the five suites in Total Care is staffed by a dedicated team of specialised nursing staff, supported by therapists, practitioners, care assistants, laundry and cleaning staff, catering and maintenance experts. On-site training allows Total Care to ensure that all staff meet our exacting standards and as such, Total Care is an accredited City and Guilds training centre, to levels 2 & 3 in direct care and level 3 in End of Life Care.

One of the most recognised standards for the development of employee skills is Investors in People. Investors in People is a nationally recognised management framework for high performance through people that helps organisations to recognise their objectives and improve their performance through the effective management and development of their staff.

We are immensely proud of our staff, not for doing their job, but for going the extra mile. Many of our residents look on our staff as friends and form strong bonds with them. Staff and Unit Managers have been nominated for “Pride in Oldham” awards on numerous occasions by residents and by families who wish to show their appreciation for the dedicated care given to a member of their family.

The care sector can have higher than average staff turnover but at Total Care, we are extremely proud of our record for staff retention, some of whom have worked for the company since its inception. This in itself fosters continuity, consistency and higher level of comfort for residents.
